Triton Takes a Top Award at ATMIA’s 2006 ConferenceLong Beach, Mississippi – February 21, 2006 – Bill Jackson Receives 2005 Lifetime Achievement Award
Triton’s Vice-President of Engineering, Bill Jackson, received ATMIA’s prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for 2005, a top award presented last week, during the ATM Industry Association’s (ATMIA) Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida.
A recognized industry leader and the authority on ATM compliance and security, Jackson has been called the “father of the modern dial-up ATM”. Jackson has been with Triton since its inception and has led the design of every significant product developed in the company’s history, including the 9500 Series cash dispenser, the industry’s first true retail, dial-up ATM. Over the past year, Jackson has been guiding the development of Triton’s newest products: the 8100, a new low-cost retail ATM and the FT7000, Triton’s first full-function banking ATM.
“It is truly an honor to be recognized by ATMIA and my peers,” said Bill Jackson. “This award is also a tribute to everyone at Triton who has been part of our success over the past 25 years.”
According to ATMIA’s Chief Executive Officer Mike Lee, “When you look at the global growth of the off-premise or convenient ATM over the last 10 years, and at Triton's role in that phenomenon, you see why it can be justly said that Bill, as Triton's pioneer engineer, has changed the face of self-service banking in the world. Not only that, but Bill has given generously of his time to put something back into the industry he himself changed - through involvement in issues like disabled access to ATMs and ATM security. I, for one, am proud of Bill Jackson's achievements over the last decade and he thoroughly deserves the Lifetime Achievement Award."
“Bill has always had the innate ability to lead a team of engineers in product design with a clear vision of the products and software that will satisfy the needs and requirements of our customers,” said Ernest Burdette, Triton founder, President Emeritus and ATMIA’s 2002 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. “We are very proud of Bill. He is indeed a true industry pioneer, a visionary and a great friend.”
